Pan-address change.

Is there any need to apply for updation of change of communication address within same state before filing of ITR for salaried person (First time) or just mentioning the current address on ITR (Online) is sufficient?

Dear Vikash,

New Address mentioned in the returns is just for reference only and it does not get updated in master file automatically.  A separate letter stating the new address needs to be sent to the respective assesing officer, who shall change the records in the system which is mapped to PAN.

One of my friend filed 4 returns so far each with different address, but as per IT they still have only the 1st address which is mentioned at the time of applying PAN!
