hi,
my friend needs to file itr,but his pan is not linked with aadhar because of name errors..
can he file it return and get refund just by quoting aadhar number in return, or the pan and aadhar should mandatorily need to link for filing and getting refund...
plz clarifyy

Name error rectification in Aadhar is possible in 2/3 days, but filling ITR without pan linking is not possible.
Changing Aaddhar name is a must. You may approach nearest Aaddhar updation center in your bank post office or vendor nearby. If mismatch is just minor then you may try linking pan with aaddhar on income tax portal
Efiling is done without aadhaar pan linking.
But e-filing site displays linking is must
