Hi.
I plan to donate to Nanhi Kali. I want to know if my donation would be tax exempt if I donate online through card/net banking or is it valid only for cheque donations.
The NGO would send me a tax receipt which would serve as 80G certificate by mail if I donate by both mediums.
I looked upon online the income tax rules and saw that only cheque donations will be eligible for tax exemptions. There's no mention of online donations.
For claiming deduction, do I need to produce only the tax receipt?

though it's mentioned as account payee cheque or account payee dd in act, you can also make payment through online which is allowed to be deducted u/s. 80G
