Old Scheme vs New Scheme...

Hi all.....

Im a final student and wish to know which scheme is better... Old or New... my attempt falls due in Nov'09 and shifting to the new sceme will imply 6 months postponement in my final attempt... What should I do...?? im currently registered under the old scheme....!!! Also what are the major differences between the two schemes????

Please let me know asap..

GROUP I

Paper 1: Advanced Accounting
Paper 2: Management Accounting and Financial Analysis

Paper 3: Advanced Auditing
Paper 4: Corporate Laws and Secretarial Practice
Group-II

Paper 5 : Cost Management
Paper 6: Management Information and Control Systems
Paper 7 : Direct Taxes
Paper 8 : Indirect Taxes

Curriculum for Final (New) Course
Group I
Paper 1: Financial Reporting (100 Marks)
Paper 2: Strategic Financial Management (100 Marks)
Paper 3: Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics (100 Marks)
Paper 4: Corporate and Allied Laws (100 Marks)
Section A: Company Law (70 Marks)
Section B: Allied Laws (30 Marks)
Group II
Paper 5: Advanced Management Accounting (100 Marks)
Paper 6: Information Systems Control and Audit (100 Marks)
Paper 7: Direct Tax Laws (100 Marks)
Paper 8: Indirect Tax Laws (100 Marks)
Section A: Central Excise (40 Marks)
Section B: Service Tax & VAT (40 Marks)

Last Final exam(old) will held in nov 2009. So you will have only one attempt to clear. you can give a try to both groups in this attempt. after this you will be automatically shifted to new course. the detailed syllabus of new course is available on site www.icai.org study it.

Hey seher....why are you shifting to new scheme....old course is also comprehensive one....in new one, u'll be postponing your attempt unnecessarily and u will have to pay Rs.6000 extra as registeration fees since the registeration fee for new course is Rs.10000....
