Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the TDS rate applicable when an assessee's status changes from Non-Resident Indian (NRI) to Resident during the financial year, particularly concerning installment payments for property purchases. The general advice is to maintain the same TDS rate for the transaction unless a lower deduction certificate is obtained from the Income Tax Officer (ITO).

TDS deducted over which service?

Immovable property

Is it rent or purchased in installments?

Purchased in installments

Being the same transaction, you need to continue the same TDS rate, unless he obtains lower deduction of tax certificate from ITO.
