In order to reduce my tax liability, i opened an NPS account online through ICICI Bank internet banking on 28th March 2019. On completion of formalities, i was able to make a contribution of 50000 through the same internet banking option of ICICI Bank on 30th March 2019. While my account got debited immediately on 30th March, the credit to NPS account has happened only on 3rd April. Does that mean i lose the tax benefits for FY 2018-19? Is there some way i can show the debit proof and claim this benefit in FY 2018-19 itself?

Yes you can claim the tax benefit u/s 80CCD(1B) if it is apart from your 1.50 lac u/s 80C and if it is under total of 1.50 lacs then it is a part of Sec 80C of 80CCD(1).
