My client not migrated to GST till date and now on checking his gst status is showing as inactive. Is he required to get his registration cancelled? If Yes, whats the procedure now if in case if he is required to cancel the registration.

First you try to register with your old ARN no if this one is not working than you should to apply a new gst no.
you can also contact with your jurdication officer and can request for reactivate it.

also as per GST rules your ragistration already in cancellation process.
