A PARTNERSHIP FIRM HOLDING TAN RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM ITO/ TDS WARD TO FILE TDS RETURNS FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2010-11. HOWEVER, SINCE NO TDS WAS DEDUCTED DURING THE FINANCIAL YEAR NO SUCH RETURN WAS FILED. WHETHER THE FIRM IS LIABLE TO FILE NIL TDS RETURNS SINCE IT IS HOLDING A TAN ? WHAT STEP SHOULD BE TAKEN NOW ?

Have to file return in due time wheather TDS deducted or not. Return is must. In this case you have to file NIL Return. both 24Q n 26Q for all the quarters.
