The discussion explained differences between Nil Rated, Exempted, Zero Rated, and Non-GST supplies under GST. Nil rated goods attract 0% GST, exempt supplies are fully exempt, zero rated covers exports and SEZ, while non-GST items fall outside GST scope.

1001 Wheat and meslin [other than those put up in unit container and bearing a registered brand name]   NIL GST
1001 Wheat and meslin put up in unit container and bearing a registered brand name 5 % GST

Wheat sold in market (be in gunny bags) without any registered brand.............. is NIL rated

Similarly

1103 Cereal groats, meal and pellets [other than those put up in unit container and bearing a registered brand name]   NIL GST
1103 Cereal groats, meal and pellets, including suji and dalia, put up in unit container and bearing a registered brand name   5 % GST
1104 Cereal grains hulled   NIL GST
1104 Cereal grains otherwise worked (for example, rolled, flaked, pearled, sliced or kibbled), except rice of heading 1006; germ of cereals, whole, rolled, flaked or ground [other than hulled cereal grains] 5 % GST

What are the items that fall under nil rated and exempted..

Nil Rated : It is the supply of goods and services that have 0% GST but allows you to claim ITC on inputs.

                   Example: Grains, salt, jaggery etc

Exempted : It is the supply of goods and services that does not attract GST and allows no claim on ITC.
Example: Bread, fresh fruits, fresh milk and curd etc

Zero Rated : made to any country other than India;  supplies made to customers located in Special Economic Zones (SEZ) or SEZ Developers; and,  supplies made as Deemed exports.

Non-GST : It is the supply of goods and services that does not come under the purview of GST while other taxes maybe applicable. Example: Petrol, alcohol etc

Zero Rated Zero Rated Supplies include:

Goods Taxable at 0% Rate under GST can be consider as Exemted Sale?

But as per sec 17(3) Exempted supplies also include tax payable under reverese charge [sec 9(3) of CGST Act] also...kindly clarify.
