One of my friend want to file the ITR1 and is tax is nil. He has contribution towards ESI & EPF. Whether he has to show those in ITR1?

One of my friend want to file the ITR1 and is tax is nil. He has contribution towards ESI & EPF. Whether he has to show those in ITR1?
He will show Employee Profession Tax of 2400 under deductions u/s 16
If the income is NIL, any exemption boxes will not get populated.
His income is below taxable limit.
