New ppf and 80c

if i open a ne ppf account before 31st march 2024 and invest in it 1.5 lakhs before 31st march 2024 then can i claim this investment a deduction in my 8c for the  FY 2023-2024?

Yes You can claim deduction under section 80 C.

thank u ....i had this doubt as i saw few ppl on yt claiming that for a newly opened ppf in fy 2023-204 even if the investment is made in the fy 2023-2024 , the first fy for the account will be in fy2024-2025 and deduction cannot be claimed in 80c for fy 2023-2024

please remember any one or aggregate of U/S 80C plans must not exceed 150000/-

You can claim deduction based on the receipt date. As per this the receipt date is must between the FY...

What ever you invest in PPF, LIC,NSC, or any investment which is eligible should be done before March 31st of any Financial Year.
