New cpt exemption rule...is it the right move by icai?

1737 views 1 replies

as per https://www.charteredclub.com/exemption-for-graduates-from-cpt-in-chartered-accountancy-ca-course/  its is approved by government that cpt is exempt and articleship critirias have changed. please read the link. So just would like ur opinion if this move by ICAI is in a right way or not. according to it, cpt wil be exempt and graduates scoring 55/60% can directly apply for articleships. Now unless ICAI makes passing % very stringent, there is going to be be big rise in CA candidates and the availabilty of  articleship students! with such a rise in supply, its most likely the value of CA will  be further diminished (as it is lagging behind in comparisons with pay packages compared to MBAs)... is this realy a good long term move by ICAI?

Ya,
I welcome this one.
I'm doing my b.Com course, now.

After doing a degree, it is not necessary to appear for CPT.

But, I'm of the opinion that the exemption should be for COMMERCE GRADUATES only.

as the non-commerce graduates don't go through the commerce papers!
