if you purchase any material which is not used in manufacturing,trading or consumable, you dont claim vat input
@ vishnu bhardwaj: No,You can claim for Vat input credit,Even material used for manufacturing, trading or consumable etc ,only On invoice that Vat should be calculated separately and mentioned 'Tax Invoice' having VAT REGISTRATION NUMBER.

If company buy the goods for employees as a Diwali gift, can company take credit of VAT? Invoice is tax invoice. Thanks in advance.
