Need suggestion - sap fico certification

CA 1308 views 6 replies

Hello Friends,

I need your help/suggestion for my carrier path.

To brief you, I am CA by profession and have around 7 years of experience in banking. My last role was Assistant Manager with ICICI Bank, UK PLC. I relocated from London in 2011.

Since last 1.5 year I was on maternity break and now I am planning to start again by changing the industry and profile. For this I am planning to do SAP FI course and want an entry in IT industry

Could you please help me to understand that should I go for SAP FI certification?

If yes, then from which institute(like genovate or seed or delphi) and what will be the chances of job after the certification?

Any pointer would be of great help.

Many Thanks

Hi,

Doing an ERP at this stage would be easy as a pie!

Coming to your question, a certificate from any leading SAP trainer

has no much weightage. A CA seeking an entry in ERP is gauged

on their ability to co relate the functional domain (supposed to be handled

by you) and the system interfaces & flow. Consider doing SAP from an

industry expert. By this I mean from a person who knows sap like the

back of his hand - atleast 10 years of involvement in the erp industry.

First opportunity post sap course could be tedious, definately not easy

as shooting fish in a barrel.

Once you get your foot in the door for an implementation then there is

no looking back. One would be flooded with offers.

My write-ups (in the articles section) on this website would definately give

you an insight. Let me know if you've any questions or if you need contact

of a sap trainer.

goodluck!

Thanks Kishore,

for your quick reply and suggesion.

THough I need some more clerification about;. how can I get a person who knows sap like the

back of his hand - atleast 10 years of involvement in the erp industry and he will teach me here in Pune? And the same will be considereded by recruiters for my entry level SAP consultant role.

Thanks & Regards

Your question on doing sap in Pune has already been answered

in my previous reply.

Joining as an "entry level consultant" at this stage with overseas

experience and a degree such as CA is not a good idea.

Not practical for obvious reasons that can not be

put before you on this forum. I'd suggest you to read my

previous reply for I believe this question too has been replied.

PM me your contact if you intend to speak to the trainer /

SAP  consultant.

Thank you so much for your guidance!  It is really helpful.

My email id is swaradni @ gmail.com. Please share the details of the trainer and if any other pointers in this regard.

Thanks in advance.

The write up on the link below may give some insight on ERP
