I need professional second opinion. I had filled an income tax appeal in feb 2024 through a lawer/CA. Since then I have been asking them when will be appeal heard and they saying that they have not received hearing notice. As year 2024 ended and finacial year is about to end also in 20 days I am worried sick so I asked them again they said same thing again but after that I received following message on 6 March 2025. Am I right that they forgot to do something earlier and wasted my time ?

Thank You very much for your time.

I'll provide a professional second opinion on your situation. Analysis:

1. *Lack of Transparency*: Your lawyer/CA has not been transparent about the status of your appeal, consistently stating they haven't received a hearing notice.

2. *Sudden Update*: The sudden message on March 6, 2025, suggests that there might have been a development in your case, which your lawyer/CA failed to communicate earlier.

Possible Scenarios:

1. *Overlooked or Forgotten*: It's possible that your lawyer/CA overlooked or forgot to take necessary actions or inform you about the developments in your case.

2. *Lack of Diligence*: The consistent lack of updates and the sudden message may indicate a lack of diligence on the part of your lawyer/CA.

 Recommendations:

1. *Seek Clarification*: Immediately seek clarification from your lawyer/CA about the message you received and the current status of your appeal.

2. *Re-evaluate Representation*: Consider re-evaluating your representation and potentially seeking a second opinion from a different lawyer/CA.

 3. *Take Proactive Steps*: Take proactive steps to ensure your appeal is being properly handled, such as requesting regular updates and verifying the status of your case with the income tax authorities.

Conclusion:

Based on the information provided, it appears that your lawyer/CA might have forgotten to take necessary actions or inform you about the developments in your case, wasting your time. It's essential to seek clarification, re-evaluate your representation, and take proactive steps to ensure your appeal is being properly handled.
