For tax u should focus on conceptual clarity. GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF SERVICE TAX AND VAT IS MUST.You shud study all provisins in detail and dont forget to learn their section no. Try short practical ques to know about the application of provisions u have studied and also try full fledge practical ques. containing all provisions. Keep your knowledge updated-study all applicable amendments. Follow books that u think suits ur requirements thats all i want to say..............best of luck 4 ur preperation

First of all u should know why are u studying for , just for passing the exam or to get hold of the concepts,

If its just for passing the exam the its simple, Just go through Vat and service tax thoroughly  then u can pass Taxation which i did in may exams i got 45 in taxation, but to get hold in taxation go through the various provisions thoroughly including the latest amendments(note: one 4m question will come from latest amendment ) and do as much as of Total Income Computation Problems. then i am sure u will get above 60 marks in the comming nov 2010 examination.

In my opinion its excellent, that too from exam point of view.
