Need a clarification regarding direct entry scheme

Hi all,

One of my friend who presently is a registered IPCC student from CPT background has written his IPCC Nov 2013 exams. However he is contemplating to change to direct entry scheme, but there is a small ambiguity regarding the consequence on changing the scheme before the results are announced. Can anyone please let me know whether one can change the scheme after writing the exam and before the result of the same is announced?

If yes, what is the effect on the result? will it be valid if the student clears? If no, for how long should one wait to write again?

Hoping to get my doubt cleared,

Thank you all.

Hello,

A very good question.

I think ICAI did not give a thought to this situation as they did not mention about a situation like this even in FAQ's(click) issued.

They only talk of two situations - either already passed or did not pass.

So, it is better to call up a chapter near you and enquire them about the same.

But if the ambiguity still persists, I suggest to wait since only 2 months are left before the results are declared.

After conversion, one definitely has to wait for 9 months to complete before they can give an attempt whether existing or new. Refer: https://www.icai.org/directcaform.html

Regards,
Subhash.
