Municipal/Panchayat annual property tax-deduction regarding-u/s 24 if I.T.Act

In respect of self occupied joint house/flat purchased out of 'own funds', can I, a Sr. Citizen claim deduction of annual property tax paid to Municipality/Local Panchayat office, from out of my Gross income before calculating my I.T. obligations every year u/s 24 of I.T.Act?
