Mrp based excise duty

Hi to Every Experts,

We are the manufacturer of the Insulatedware on which the MRP based excise duty is applicable. My quries are :

a) How freuqntly we can change the MRP of a product ? Is there any specific or any approx time mentioned for the change in MRP?

b) Can we sale under two different MRP (for the sames product - sale on the same day) to two different customers located in two different areas ?

Refer the Legal metrology act 1. You may change the MRP as you wish. 2. You may charge different MRP to different customers. But make sure you keep it well documented that you sell using different MRP. It maybe useful during any audit.

Thank you sir,

But when we are consulting with our excise consultant who is Ex Assistant Commission of Excise. He says that it is not possible. From where can I get the excat details ??

Dear Sir,

a) There is no specific time to change MRP rate, You can change as and when you wish to change it periodically.

b) You can't sell the two different MRP for differenent customer/Delear for the same product.

c) One more important thing need to be keep it in mind is that, while transferring the goods across the specific area of different place of dealers, in such case there will be a fright/ transporting cost will be vary, in such case particularly MRP rate will be vary (Must mention below MRP rate – Zone, Area, City, State)
