Mistake in TDS payment

TDS 861 views 5 replies

TDS by company was payable via netbanking through tin-nsdl website.

TAN was correctly entered

Amount was correctly entered

Bank account number was correctly entered and paid successfully

Assessment year was correctly entered

Nature of payment was correctly entered

Name - instead of company's name, individual name was mistakenly entered

Now what can I do to correct this mistake? How do I change the name ?

Thanks,

First write a letter to bank for rectification of same if bank is unable to do same than write a letter to AO of your ward….

payment is credited on TAN basis, it would get credited in tax account, irrespective of name of person or company, ( clarification : the payment is made by person on behalf of compnay)

Agree with Vikash Kharvar

In order to confirm the payment, I visited tin-nsdl.com and checked with challan status enquiry. I checked using TAN as well CIN, but the payment made is not reflecting in any of it. It shows no record found. I think I will check the bank account if it actually got debited, because if nsdl has a secured payment facility then maybe the payment got cancelled due to discrepency in the input data.

I'll revert back with more info
