hello members

i want to start detailed discussion here on topic of mistake in belated return filed.

in practical scanario many persons come to practitioners & say for two years return .. in that case there is always a situation arise of belated return filling, if its nil return that no problem but if its a case of something other thing then there is so much precaution needed.. although we keep care, there are cases arise where some mistake persist, than what to do for correcting it.... discuss your experience in detail here.........

What About Section 154 . we can file online rectification request.

i would suggest that belated return be filed in offline form. That gives the assessee better interface with the AO and option of making submissions (instead of rectification under 139(5) - which is not available in case of belated return) is available.

Filing belated return with CPC makes it very difficult to correct returns and we have to depend on processing of returns and thereafter only limited options under 154 are available for client to pursue amending the claims made in the return.
