A message for all

Hello Everybody,

Off late I have observed that many students have a frame of mind that works like this –

·         To earn …. You have to do …. Course

·         You cannot earn ….. without doing …. Course

·         The only way to get a great house, car, wife etc is to do …. Course

·         Unless you are a CA/MBA..etc you are nobody, you are not educated.

Some also go ahead and compare various courses to justify their own frame of minds and would say CAs is superior/inferior to MBAs/Engineers etc.

I have a message for all of you.

ICAI or for that matter any institute is nobody to decide anybody’s future.

Their job is to provide educational services.

Your future is only in your hands. The amount of money you will earn is not decided by any institute but by your own deeds.

Having or not having a degree can influence only your starting salary in case you opt to do a job.

If you want to start a business, remember that you will be doing well because you offer something great. We do not buy goods or choose to use services of some company based on the qualifications of their management. Be it a cell phone, telecom service provider, restaurant, internet, computer, stationery or a movie theatre, toothpaste, brush, perfume, car etc. We all make these decisions based on the costs and quality considerations and not the qualifications of the management of the ones who manufacture/provide these goods/services. The ability to have a good cost structure and quality again is not something that is copyrighted by people who have degrees.

If you look at the industries globally, there is nothing to suggest that the businesses started by those who have not done CA or MBA or Engineering etc are less efficient than those who have done these courses (for more on this refer to examples given by Shri Warren Buffet in his letters to shareholders and Berkshire Hathaway's Annual Reports - see his website https://www.berkshirehathaway.com/)

Knowledge is universal.  It is not something that exists only in the books of some courses. Also remember that Knowledge is not a commodity that exists with only those who have passed certain exams.

You can learn a few things by doing a few courses, or even by experience. Many great businessmen’s do not have any degrees at the same time many of them do. You may fall in any criteria, but that does not decide anything. What has made these businessmen with degrees rich is not the degree but it is their ability to deliver and their attitude and luck.

Therefore, please do not under estimate and bind yourself in these false rules. If someone says that you cant earn …. Unless you are ….. or you cant get …. without having …. degree it please ignore such comments. These rules are made by the mind only and do not exist in reality.

Believe in yourself and god to have a strong will.

Remember - The will is stronger than anything else. Everything must go down before the will, for that comes from God and God Himself; a pure and a strong will is omnipotent - Swami Vivekananda.

And I would aslo like to Quote one thing that Earning money is only purpose of our life...?

If So then there are many easy ways to make money,  than Doing CA..!

FIRST We  should make clear why we joined this INCREDIBLE PROFESSION...!

ICAI might be able to do so, but I want people to realise their own potential and think beyond the minimum or maximum pay scales set by anybody. There is infinite potential in one's self.

Earning money might not be the only purpose in life, thats true. You are right, there are many ways to make money, there are also many ways to make money honestly and ethically. And from what I know most (besides some like auditing balance sheets and tax related work) of them dont require you to be an accountant or an MBA or anybody. Purpose of joining the course should be surely clear. It shouldn't happen that after CA one feels like becoming a scientist. My discussion is only to discuss the mindset which I have indicated in my post. It might be very few people who think that way, if that is so, then the message is for them.

it is an eye opener. thanks  krunal

as you said what ever be the course it is our talent which shines.

To understand this doha in its true perspective is important. We all read and now with tremendous media exposure, we are seemingly more informed. Everyone seems to know everything. Yet, the truth is that inspite of all this information, there is no awareness.   We are not at peace. There is a lot of frustration all around.  Our minds are not quiet and relaxed.  We talk of Love but have no compassion Selfishness, greed, fear, hatred and similar tendencies seem to grip us all the time.

Kabir in this doha shows the way, in his simple but dynamic style. He daringly says that despite all our readings, despite all our knowledge, we cannot become wise.  Only if we 'read' Love, become loving and loveable, only then wisdom will dawn on us.  Only then Life will be worth living.

Wealth/Money is not a criteria to decide the talent of a Chartered Accountant or an MBA or any other professional. The presence of mind and right decision at right place in a right manner with the right attitute is needed to earn everything.

Thanks and keep sharing........

Dear Dashrath Sir,

Thank you for sharing the wise thoughts of Kabir.

What you say is absolutely right. Actually knowing something is one thing, but realisation is also important.

Money is not a measure of success thats true. In my post I have just added to your view, by saying that having a degree is not a mesaure of success, knowledge, intelligence or superiority of any kind over others.

As you rightly said, it is the presence of mind and right decision at right place in a right manner with the right attitute is needed to earn everything.

I thank for adding value to my post my giving useful insights.

thanks for sharing

Dear Krunal,

First of all I’d like to congratulate you for such a good write up. Further I fully endorse your views. I don’t understand how can we compare CA or CS with other professions?

Your observation about the current scenario is very true. We are just running behind the bookish knowledge, coaching classes, rank in exam and other stuff like that and in this race true knowledge ride has lost its identity somewhere.

Another proof of misunderstanding the meaning of true knowledge is ---we simply breakdown quite easily on a single exam failure and many student opt for suicide…but the real failure is when we overlook the knowledge that we have gained during that particular attempt. So we have to analyse ourselves and understand our own worth and put ourselves back on track.

You are very right in saying that various educational institutes are just a means of gaining knowledge and they are not the sole distributors of knowledge appointed by GOD. Knowledge is everywhere but all that we need is to figure out the real meaning of knowledge. As per my understanding we can earn true knowledge by our constant and honest efforts and self belief.

One more thing knowledge is not the property of anyone and it may take different forms. If you are ill --- only a doctor can cure you and if your car tyre got punctured --- only a car mechanic can help you out and here our CA or CS or any other degree is not going to help. So we have to give proper respect to other professions and persons.

An old clerk at ROC office, with around 10-15 years experience, possesses more legal knowledge then a professional so knowledge comes with experience and dedication. We must consider ourselves very lucky and must thank our parents for all their efforts for our betterment.

Here I would like to thank my parents for teaching me the value of a true and honest effort and help me to understand my true strength.

Thanks Krunal for inviting me to share my views. Keep writing brother.

Best Regards

Dear Ankur Sir,

Thank you for appreciating the thoughts and sharing valuable inputs.

I also wish too say that one shouldn't opt for any course based on the salary figures candidates out there get. Many successful people from our own fraternity and outside CA profession have also been advising to stop looking at starting salaries. The key is to identify what your passionate about, realise your potential and achieve standard of excellence. People who do that make money out of anything. Today we have people who make crores of rupees in selling a Kulfi, Wada Pav and 'Pan' as well.

I have seen that a lot of time has been wasted in general discussions about different professions and starting salaries. I can only say one thing, if you want to be an exception, think and talk about them. General discussions especially of comparing courses or starting salaries would be a waste of valuable time. There is a Japanese Proverb that says - "If one person can do it, even you can do it. If no one has done it, then you must do it." All of us must strive to become exceptions. And I believe it is possible only when we think beyond degrees and starting salaries.

Thanks & Regards,

Krunal
