Earlier when applying for the tan online, the procedure was to fill all the details online, take print out, sign & send to the tin pan center, other documents weren't needed to send with this. but now it is compulsory to send all the related documents along with the receipts. Is it ?

Yes, earlier only the signed acknowledgment was generally required for online TAN application. However, under the revised 2026 TAN process, Form 49B has been replaced by Form 134/135. For non-government applicants filing Form 135, supporting documents like POI, POA, and DOB/incorporation proof are now required along with the signed acknowledgment to be sent to Protean within the prescribed time.
