Membership and cop

Hi,

I am a newly qualified C.A, and while applying for membership, I have been asked to provide my Professional Address. Since I have recently qualified, I haven't started practice and thus can start only after obtaining COP, so what should I write in Professional Address column of Membership form (Form 2, point 11) and I.D card form (professional Address and Membership no. column).

Also If later I go into employment, will I have to surrender my COP? or can I like, retain my COP but do not sign on any documents or perform any Attestation service?

Also if I am not applying for CA benevolent fund, do I need to fill page 7 in form 2?

Thanks, Really appreciate your help friends:-)

You can enter your residence Address in your Proff Address column, as It is necessary coz you are Opting for COP & that is the address where Institute will correspond with you as & when required for all matters. Also incase in future as mentioned by you if you get into employment & surrender your COP Your address will remain same as It will be your Residence address for Communication & also for all the Docs & Journals & other publications which ICAI sends us & also the Address on Record. So dont bother on that point & mention your residence Address at Both Resi & proff Address Columns & Go ahead with your Application for Membership & COP. I hope your Query & confusion is clear

Thanks, but will I have to surrender my COP, if I move into employment. because I intend to keep my COP with me, If i move into employment, but would not sign in the capacity of Chartered Accountant. Can i do so?
