An employee pays mediclaim policy premium of Rs.31,000 p.a. He claims deduction u/s.80D for Rs.15,000/- and the same is granted by the employer. Further he is also entitled to Rs.15,000 as medical reimbursement from the employer, Can he claim the balance amount of Rs.15,000/- paid as mediclaim premium to the company to claim this amount of Medical Reimbursement ?????

No, for FY 14-15 medicalim deduction u/s 80D only Rs. 15,000.

if he is a govt employee then he claim for 15000/- but if he is a non govt employee then he can not claim for the same..

Clause (iv) of the 1st proviso to sec 17(2) exempts reimbursements of insurance premium paid by the employee on his health or on the health of any member of his famiy for the purposes of sec 80D, subject to a max of Rs.15,000/- for A.Y. 2015-16.
