If I have purchased senior citizen health insurance of Rs. 20,000 then how much it allowed for medical expenses deduction.

Under section 80D IT act, you can get deduction for full amount of Rs. 20,000/-
In addition to Insurance premium, how much I can take additional medical expenses which are not covered in Insurance.
Additional expenditure up to 50K can be claimed for your parents or Sr Sct spouse, but not for yourself, as you have Mediclaim insurance.
@ Honourable dhirajlal rambhia sir, as per section 80d of the Income Tax act any mediclaim insurance if we have paid up to 25000 limit we can claim for us and also our process childrens, for senior citizens of our parents we can claim 50000.


and section 80 DD any medical treatments a mines or severe disability 75 000 up to we can claim more disability we can claim up to 125000 which means prevent health checkup


iam I right sir or any mistake


whether these all all are should be done only online payment whether cash payment is eligible for this
  1. Both these sections are different.
  2.  Sec. 80D is in general for all
  3. While sec 80DD is person having spedified dieases, who has doctor's certificate in that regard. for severe assessee can claim upto 1.25L.
  4. Prevantive health care is all together different, can be claimed max upto 5K in sec. 80D
