I think you are talking about the exemption benefit u/10 and you are a salaried person. If you then still you don't take the benefit as now there is new provision of standerd deduction rs. 40000 instead of medical expenses exemption.

Medical expenses exemption has been replaced by standerd deduction rs 40,000
