Medical and transport rebate for retirees

Tax queries 123 views 1 replies

Hi,

My mother is retired from PSU bank and drawing pension and some interest income. During return filing for AY2018-19 can she claim rebate for medical bills (15,000) and transport allowance (1600/per month). She has not sumbitted any bills to employer. If she can claim these rebates then under which section.

Regards,
Tarun

being a pensioner i dont think, you will be paid travel allowance... so in the absence of the receipt of the same, you cannot claim the same.. if you are super senior citizen, then you can claim your medical bills under section 80dd
