Mandatory to work under FCA to apply COP

Hi all, I cleared CA exam in 2009 and worked in Infosys. Now I want to start my own practice. Is it mandatory to work under FCA for 1 year to apply COP. Please clarify

There is no such provision. Our relative started practice immediately after articleship and CA exams completion
