Lump sum amount received one time from ex-husband as alimony is taxable or not

and how to mention it in income tax return

Not taxable.........

Can report it under schedule 'EI'

i need some more information

   ITR -1  is applicable for the assessee , its nessessry to show compansation amount in itr or not , and any supporting documents will be uploaded or not 

   

Same ITR 1 would be applicable........ I repeat, to declare the income under Exempted income.

No need to upload any document, but keep ready a copy of court decree for submission in case of any query....

I will beg to differ from the views of Mr Rambhia. Though lump sum alimony is tax free but it is not exempt income. It was judicially held as capital receipt. So it is not required to be reported in ITR
