Can LTA exemption be claimed under section 10 (5) while filing return if LTA is received from employer and exemption not claimed through employer?

Yes lta exemption can be filed in return

Request employer to modify 16. if not, claim it suo moto in return.

Yes, it must be mentioned BY THE EMPLOYER AS PER SEC 10(5).
