Liability of a service

Queries 420 views 1 replies

I run a internet based service. Providing server management, internet marketing services to a USA company. All work is done thorugh internet only.

Work is not service taxable as its covered under export of services to abroad. But since its a export service, is there any need to get IEC ( Import Export Code).

From /experts/export-of-software-services-with-out-iec-and-implication--142021.asp I found that there is not need to obtain, if full service is delivered through Internet. Also I am not registered to any STPI or software council.

Net turn over will be more than 10 Lacs ( 100% revenue from export no Indian Clients). Will I have to get Service Tax registartion? I am not planning to give service to Indian customers
