Legal Name or trade name

Hi,

I have different Legal and Trade names in my GST Certificate. If I purchase raw materials, in which name should I get the GST invoice? Legal or Trade name? Please clarify. Thanks.

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies which name to use on GST invoices for purchasing raw materials to ensure Input Tax Credit (ITC) is received. While one user suggests using the trade name, another points out that ITC is only available to registered dealers. The consensus leans towards using the name under which the GST number is registered, as this indicates proper registration and compliance.

It should be trade name . If GST number is printed on the tax invoice then you will get ITC .
Tax Invoice should be as per the rule 46 of the CGST rules 2017 .

Thanks for your valuable reply.

Eswar it's wrong .
You can get input tax credit only if you are a regular dealer registered under gst act.
It's Trade name
@ Sabyasachi,

If there is trade name under GST then it means it's already registered. If GST number is there what does it mean ?

Will you get GST number under GST without registration ?
