Leave encashment taxable at resignation ?

Hi, am working in it company for 13 years.. in last company i stays for 8years. but due to company merger, they layoff employees and asked to resign ourself with severance. my question is, does Leave encashment taxable at resignation ? actually am not getting retirement. i checked section 10(10AA)(ii), but confused of what is separation/resignation ? pls help

yes it should be taxable...
