Karnataka vat - category of transaction for return of goods

Hi,

We are a registered dealer based in Bangalore, Karnataka. We purchased goods from a dealer in Tamil Nadu. But we found the goods to be defective. The manufacturer has agreed to fix the goods free of charge. So we need to send the goods back to the manufacturer for fixing. For this transportation we need to provide an e-SUGAM number.

In filling the e-SUGAM form, there is a question on the 'Category of transaction'. What should be the value of it?

Available options are:

  • After Sale
  • After Purchase
  • To his principal
  • Consignment for Sale (Receipts)
  • To His Shop/Godown/Storage
  • For Jobwork/Return after Jobwork/Line Sale
  • Stock Transfer (Receipts)
  • Consignment for Sale (Despatch)
  • Stock Transfer (Despatch)
  • Others

Will this come under 'Stock Transfer' or should be under 'Others'?

You can select 'Others' and obtain E-Sugam number from dept
