Dear Sir I owned a kalyana Mandapam (Shadi Khana) which is used for Marriages, Functions, Meetings etc., on rental basis with no other additional facilities like catering, lighting, decoration etc., are being provided. Is the above service falls under service Tax liability? If so, under which category of service is it taxable and the applicable Abatement Rate? Please Tell
First of all please tell me about your kalyana Mandapam (Shadi Khana) whether it is a garden or a building( Dharamshala). and In last if you have your services more then Rs. 1000000 ( Threshhold limit).Then whether you get your self register with service tax department.

Since July,2012,After the inception of Negative list regime only those services which comes either in Negative list of Services or in Mega exemption Notification are exempt from tax.
Since I don't find such type of service (Related to Marriage garden or Building) in both of the list,I think It will be taxable subject to the threshold limit of Rs.10 Lacs.
