Dividend is just the distribution of profits among the Shareholders of the Company. It may be interim or Final.  Generally Interim dividends are distributed to shareholders between 2 sucessive Annual General Meetings and before finalisation of accounts.

interim dividend is distributed before the finalisation of accounts from the current year profits.
