one of my friend got a notice under non filing monitoring scheme for non filing of itr for the a.y 2016-17.
and he ignored it and the A.o has already raised the demand for 20000/- in march 2017..
can we do anything now to escape from that demand now..
please clarify..

No. Nothing can be done now.
If demand is correct then pay it. if not and if you wish then you may go in for appeal.
