Quick Summary
This discussion addresses which Income Tax Return (ITR) form to use for the financial year 2019-20. The user's friend earned a salary of 8 Lakhs in India from April to December 2019 before moving to Canada and was unemployed from January to March 2020. The expert advises that ITR-1 is suitable if the only source of income is salary, but other income sources like rent or interest must also be disclosed. Separately, a query about starting a business as a tax consultant is answered, with the advice that knowledge is key, and specific qualifications or exams might be needed for certain practices like GST.

If source of income is only from salary then you can use ITR-1.
As mentioned by you, Your friend have only Salary income of Rs. 8 Lakh You can file his return in form ITR 1.
In ITR you are also required to mention your other income, like if you have any rent Income of house property, or any interest from saving bank account or interest from FD/RD ect..
Thank you much

To start a business as tax consultant /Return filing and to grow that, knowledge is more important than any qualifications. Yes, if you want to practice in GST, than, you can give exam of GST practitioner and be a authorised GST practitioner or same like this there is a tax return Prepare for income tax purposes.
