Itr e filing and employer

ITR 1 does not accept salary returns without employer's TAN. What should be done in case the employer does not have TAN and the other income of the assessee crosses 500000/-?

He has to mandatorily e- file his returns. But the ITR does not get accepted due to the fact that employer does not have TAN.  (The only choice left is to show salary income as other income?!?)

Please help!

TAN number in ITR1 is to be filled up only when you are claiming credit for TDS deducted by your employer. When you employer does not have TAN it means no TDS would have got deducted, else he could not have deposited it

In case you face any problem in filing ITR1, please mail your details to wwww.itrtoday.com and we would help you prepare ITR1, no obligations

I know that there is no need to fill TAN if there is no TDS.

The problem is that ...If I don't fill the TAN column the xml file does not generate bec it is compulsary field!

Please send us the complete data, we would help you pls mail data at admin (at) itrtoday.com

@ madhavi....

No ....You are wrong somewhere!!!!

The itr-1 accepts the return to be filed without the tan no. and the tds details....

Even xml gets generated....

check whether the return is filled properly and also for the macros....
