It depends onwhat type of correction you have to made.If you have omitted anything that will change your income particulars then it is better for you to file revised return,If the mistake is minor then you can send ITR V and file rectification after receiving intimation u/s 143(1).

Dear Rohit

Mistake is not minor its is related to disclosure of some income in wrong way...anyway  can i revise that return without sending signed ITR -V of old return mentioning acknowledgement no of old return or not.

Thanks

Once E-filing is done, e-filing acknowledgement number will be generated and same is reflected in your ITR-V. It is nothing but e-filing successfully done.

Now the options are  (1) U have to  revise your return by rectifying the mistakes or corrections

(2) wait for 4 months (120 days) from the date of E-filing and upload fresh return for the relevant Assessment year since U have not sent the signed copy to ITR-V to CPC till date.

two options are in your hand,

1) revise the return now and send both ITRV to CPC

2) ignore the efiled return, and dont send ITRV to CPC( it will get cancelled auto after 120 days), but file a manual return to ITO in ward,

select any one option which suits you.

hello....i think dat the return is deemed to be filed only wen itr5 is sent....... so if u hvnt sent itr5, it means no return has been filed..... u can revise only dat return which has been filed........

the other thing is dat u can file a new return without filing any itr5 for the previous return.. but in dis case u will hv to pay penalty us 234... dats my opinion
