Quick Summary
A user mistakenly filed their Income Tax Return (ITR) for AY 2020-21 as a revised return. They are seeking advice on whether to file an original return again or leave it as is. Other users have clarified that it's not possible to file a revised return without first filing an original one, and the system would likely show an error. The discussion also touches upon taxable allowances for salaried employees.

I think no problem will happen but you might take an approval from CIT
Wrong..
HE CANNOT FILE THE RETURN AS REVISED RETURN.
AFTER LOGGING ONTO EFILING WEBSITE.
THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS ORIGINAL /REVISED/ CONDONATION U/SEC 119 (2)(B).
EVEN WHILE FILLLING UP THE DATA THE DETAILS ARE TO BE FURNISHED.
ORIGINAL OR REVISED RETURN.
THE XML FILE WILL NOT BE UPLOADED , THERE WILL BE A MISMATCH AND ERROR WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN.
Yes, correct
U cannot file revised return for the 1st time as u have to enter the original return acknowledgement number in case if you r filing revised return, other wise the form will show error
Recheck your acknowledgement, it will shows original only in case if you filed the ITR for the 1st time of relevant AY
