Itr 2 jurisdiction of residence

sir,

i am on F1 student visa. As per us tax laws my filing status is non resident alien for tax purpose.

i am filling my ITR 2 in India. What should be my jurisdiction of residence in ITR-2. Currently , I AM NRI as per indian tax laws.

Jurisdiction of residence will be as per your Tax Identification Number issued to you by the concerned country.

Or else it will be your Passport issuing country

But as per us tax laws, I m a non resident alien as I m on F1 visa.

For determining residential status for tax purposes , Indian Income Tax has its own criterias as contained in section 6 of the act.

In ITR2 you ( as an NRI ) have to mention Jurisdiction of residence and for that either TIN or issuing country of passbook.

Status under US Tax laws are irrelevant as far as residential status of India under income tax is concerned.
