Can a contractor avail ITC on goods purchased (materials for contraction) for contract work.

Except 17(5) contractor can take ITC for the purpose of his business.

yes provided it is not construction of own building itc is not allowed on input for construction of own bldg

Yes, ITC can be claimed on goods purchased for contract work.
