No, Sec 17(5) does not covers these type of business travel expenses.

Yes you are correct travelling expenses are block U/S 17(5) , but if it' is paid for Taxi fare .(Rent a cab)
Hence In your case for only on air tickets you can claim ITC , not for lodging & food.

Then what if i hire a car other than rent a cab for business purpose,whether itc on such exp is available or not

IN S.NO.1. OF SECTION 17(5) , DEFINES THAT ITC CAN BE CLAIM ON VEHICLE PURCHASE ONLY IF IT IS FURTHER SUPPLY OF SUCH VEHICLE/CONVEYANCE
*HERE CONVEYANCE MEANS THE VEHICLE ONLY
