Our supplier has shown invoice for the month of Aug 2017 in his
GSTR1 of August 2018 through amendation. Now in which financial year we get credit 2017-18 or 2018-19? Please clarify it.
While filing the return for August 2018, if your supplier has uploaded that invoice with the date (i.e. invoice date) of August 2017, then you will get the credit of it in FY 17-18. However, if that supplier has shown it with the date (i.e. invoice date) of August 2018, then you are might be in a trouble.
The important thing, in this regard, is the invoice date (as shown in the GSTR-1) and not the month of GSTR-1.
