Quick Summary
If you're registered for GST and receive rental income from a commercial property, you can generally claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) on renovation expenses like civil, painting, and carpentry work. However, ITC is not permissible if these renovation costs are capitalised as part of a capital expenditure. Ensure the work is for the furtherance of your business to be eligible.

If that renovation work is for the furtherance of business it's ok

Yes you can take ITC. No issue.

However ITC will not be allowed if such renovation is of the nature of capital expenditure

If it capitalised..than No ITC,
otherwise ITC available

Thank you Mr. Mukherjee, CA A. Zafar & Nidhi Madam
