Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies when a buyer (Mr. Y) can claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) when goods are dispatched in one month (January) but received in the next (February). The general rule is that ITC can only be availed upon receipt of goods. However, the scenario becomes complex if the supplier files the invoice in their January return, potentially appearing in the buyer's January 2B. The core question is whether the ITC is claimable in January or February.

In this case billing was in the month of jan but goods were received in the month of feb only so as per conditions of section 16, ITC can be availed only on receipt basis that is when goods were actually received.

But, if it's coming in 2B of Jan 22 as supplier file that bill in Jan month ..than ?
