we need to have a min 30% mark in subjects to claim exemption in one sub....

ie,. if I get 100 marks in accounts, and 0 marks in law, I will not be eligible for exemption in accounts..., I need to have 30 marks in law to gain exemption.... is this true? or just a fake news?

I got exemption in accounts and at the same time i got 20 marks in Auditing
