is reference is d only way out 2 get into big 4s????

heyya frens i hv cleared my ipcc dis nov... nw i want 2 do my articleship 4m big 4s.....wats d process of gettin dere wat exactly i hv to do....i hv askd many people in dis regard but their responses are very DISHEARTENING, DISCOURAGING AS WELL AS DEMOTIVATING........acc 2 all of dem dere is no chance of gettin dere w/o references or approach or jack as dey say it ...wat u guys think ???r ur opionions xctly same????...esp of dose who r workin in big 4s.....

ur suggestions n replies r valueably required

Dont get disheartened by them. Prepare a nice resume. Revise your tax and audit concepts. And walk in for an interview directly at their addresses. If you try at all places, you will surely get lucky in atleast 1. Probably they might have vacancies. Apart from Big 4, also try in grant thornton. It can be considered equivalent to Big 4 in terms of articleship. N ya, Congrats for clearing.

To get articleship in big 4 u have to be a ranker or u need to have a good reference. This goes not only for the big 4 but even in medium or small firms they dont take u without reference. Thats what i have experienced.

thnx 2 all u 4 replyin ... i prepared a nice resume...now wots next ?? hw shud i gt started?? do u think if i pesonally visit offices of big n medium firms in order 2 submit my resume will dey accept it??? or dey will throw it in dustbin as i hv heard..... i hv to every thing on my own dere is no1 2 help or guide so guys pls help me.......

Get addresses of these firms.... 1) Ernst & Young 2) KPMG 3) PWC 4) Delloitte Haskins & Sells 5) Grant thornton....... And go there personally.....

Hi Guys, I want to join in Big4 firms. Especially I am interested in joining in KPMG. Most of people suggested me to take any good reference. Want do you meant by taking good reference? Suppose if we take reference, whom to address to accept me for articleship? needed reply........ :)
